The Assessor’s RoleAssessors are independent individuals/businesses. They are accredited by Accredit UK to visit and recommend suppliers for certification. The Accredit UK certification is an evidence based evaluation; it is only awarded to organisations that can demonstrate, through past performance, that they have met the criteria established within the General Expectations and relevant Segment Specific Expectations documents. The accredited assessor is the individual that is responsible for: Providing pre-visit guidance to the applicant; Requesting and reviewing the evidence provided by the applicant on the assessment visit; Assessing that evidence against the established criteria and determining the appropriate benchmarking statistics; Identifying any shortfalls from the ideal performance levels and discussing the action plan that is appropriate by the conclusion of the visit; Determining the overall direction of travel and any issues on Key Lines of Enquiry; Providing an immediate response to the applicant indicating whether or not the assessor will be recommending a pass; Presenting the follow-up e-mail to the applicant and to the Certification Panel; Participating in any appropriate post visit activities recommended by the Certification Panel; Peer reviewing certification reports as required; Recommending updates to the evidence criteria where appropriate; Participating in the assessor community of practice activities. |
