What Does Accredit UK Certification Mean?

If a company holds Accredit UK certification, it means that:

• The company has had a full assessment within the last three years ( Ask to see the company’s certificate to see when this was ).

• At this assessment, an independent assessor established that the company met the required standards in all five areas of its business. These five stages are:

  • Business Management – how well it manages itself and its personnel? 
  • Business Direction – how well it has planned its strategy?
  • Business Generation – how well it goes about generating new custom?
  •  Delivery & Operations – how well it carries out its activities?
  •  Customer Relationships – how well it manages and satisfies its customers?

• The company met the requirements of General Expectations (the requirements of which every company must meet) and its chosen Segment. Ask to see the company’s certificate – the segment(s) it is deemed to have met the requirements for are marked on the certificate.

• If the original date of certification was more than one year ago, the company will have had an annual “Light Touch Review” to ensure that it is still meeting the required expectations. This review also checks that it is continuously improving according to an Action Plan agreed at the original assessment.

Visits are carried out annually. This is to balance the need for regular checks against freedom to operate by the certified company.

As such, it can not be considered that ongoing continual assessment takes place. Therefore Accredit UK shall have no liability to any Buyer in respect of Certified Organisations.
