About iSware iSware were established in 2006, and are located in Stoke with 2 employees. They specialise in mobile business management products and services into courier and facilities management markets. iSware provides real added value to its customers by working closely with them throughout the development process in order to determine and meet all customer expectations. Unusually for a small IT company, iSware are actively marketing their products outside of Europe, and are pursuing opportunities in various global locations such as Russia. Situation prior to AUK Prior to gaining the Accredit UK Standard, iSware had implemented a number of formal systems and processes however they did not have any formal quality accreditations. Reason for applying There were a number of reasons that iSware applied for certification including:- Ø to gain commercial advantage against competitors with an industry specific certification Ø to evaluate the company’s systems against best practice as a platform for growth Ø to tighten processes and procedures to help guard against commercial risk factors. Outcomes of assessment Certification to the Accredit UK Standard has enabled iSware to prepare for a successful future.
A Joint Approach to Improvement iSware found that using the Accredit UK Self Assessment materials to conduct a self assessment gap analysis allowed them to recognise their existing strengths in both quality and business management, but also to identify areas that would benefit from the development of additional policies and procedures. Throughout the process the Accredit UK Assessor was able to assist by helping to evaluate the effectiveness of existing controls and systems, and those under development, and by suggesting solutions for issues raised during the gap analysis. The benefits realised from the certification visit and the action plan were many. iSware now have confidence in the completeness of their quality and business policies and procedures, which gives much comfort in their dealings with their suppliers and customers. They also have a sound basis for achieving their objectives for the performance and growth of the business. The accreditation also confirms to prospective clients isWare’s awareness and attitude to both the quality of software products and to customer service levels.
Benefits The benefits that certification has brought include: Ø Improved credibility Ø Ability to differentiate from the competition Ø Improvements to the quality of products and services
Since certification there has been an increased volume of enquiries, with three new proposals having been issued to potential clients (based in the Northwest, the North and the East of England) and meetings having been arranged to visit prospective clients in the Midlands and Scotland. Each of these new potential sales are supported by proposal documentation that has been improved and made more complete as part of the work undertaken in the lead-up to the Accredit UK assessment.
